Short answer: the browser version of Stickman Hook that runs on this site has no last level. It ships 39 fixed levels — 9 hand-built opening stages and 30 more stitched together from set pieces — and after that it keeps generating new levels for as long as you keep swinging. The “12 / 15” counter on the Play button is not a total either; it simply shows the next multiple of five above the level you are on.
That is not a guess. We read it out of the game’s own code, the same bundle.js that loads in the player on our Stickman Hook page.
How the levels are built
Madbox built the web version from three kinds of pieces: a start section, a middle section and a finish section, each one a short run of hooks, bumpers and gaps. The game picks a level like this:
- Levels 1–9 are complete levels designed by hand. They teach the swing: grab, release at the right moment, use the bouncy bumpers.
- Levels 10–39 are fixed combinations of one start, one middle and one finish piece. Every player gets the same layout on the same level number.
- Level 40 onwards picks a random start, middle and finish each time, so the run never ends and two players on “level 57” are not playing the same course.
Why the counter says “/ 15” or “/ 20”
The number after the slash is worked out from your current level: it is always the next multiple of five. Clear level 14 and the target becomes 20; clear 19 and it becomes 25. It is there to give you a small goal, not to tell you how many levels exist. That is also why lists online disagree so much — people quote whatever number their counter showed when they stopped.
What the mobile app has
The phone app is a separate, larger release that Madbox keeps updating, with its own level list. The numbers above are only for the browser build you can play here and on school Chromebooks without installing anything.
What you unlock along the way
Progress is saved in your browser, so you continue from your last level next time on the same device (clearing site data resets it). The shop holds 23 characters, from the Classic stickman to the Banana, Corgi, Dragon, Hot Dog, Ninja, Panda and Unicorn; in this build a skin is unlocked by watching an optional video ad, not by levels or coins. Skins are cosmetic — the rope and the ragdoll behave the same whichever one you wear.
Tips for the endless part
- Random levels can put a bumper right after a long swing. Release a little earlier than usual and let the bumper do the climbing.
- Height is speed: on unknown pieces, let go near the top of the arc rather than at the bottom.
- If a level past 39 looks unfair, replay it: those layouts are rolled at random when the level loads.
